Cold Rolled Stainless Steel and Hot Rolled Stainless

Cold rolled stainless steel sheet: with thickness less than 6 mm, surface is 2B, bright. 

Hot rolled stainless steel plate: with thickness between 3mm and 16mm, with industrial surface and matte surface. 

Hot rolled stainless steel plate

Advantages: the hot rolling of stainless steel has good toughness and ductility, good torsion resistance and low price.

Disadvantages: hot rolled stainless steel has poor stability and fatigue resistance, and its mechanical properties are inferior to those of cold rolled stainless steel.

Cold rolled stainless steel           

Advantages: high forming speed, high output, no damage to coating, strong plastic deformation ability, high yield point and high dimensional accuracy. 

Disadvantages: low toughness, easy to torsion in bending, prone to bending and torsion buckling under compression, poor torsional performance and the price is more expensive price.

Stainless steel plates are generally classified by thickness.

Classification by thickness:

Stainless steel foil: thickness < 0.05mm  

Stainless steel thin strip: thickness 0.05-0.2mm           

Stainless steel sheet: thickness: 0.2-3mm; common thickness: 0.2/0.3/0.4/0.5/0.6/0.8/1.0/1.2/1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0mm           

stainless steel plate is 3-20 mm; the common thickness is 3/4/5/6/8/10/12/14/16/18/20mm

Stainless steel thick plate: thickness 20-60mm; common thickness: 20/22/25/28/30/35/40/45/50/55/60mm

Stainless steel extra thick plate: thickness > 60mm; common thickness: 65mm
