304 201 Quick identification in stainless steel tank

304 stainless steel is often used in the inner layer due to its excellent corrosion resistance (i.e. directly in contact with water, 201 stainless steel cannot be used on the inner layer due to its poor corrosion resistance, and can only be used on the outer layer of the stainless steel insulation water tank. 201 stainless steel is cheaper than 304 stainless steel and often used by some unscrupulous merchants as 304 stainless steel. The stainless steel insulation water tank made of 201 stainless steel has a short service life, which can be corroded by water in about 1-2 years, leaving safety hazards during use.).

 

Identify these two materials using simple methods

 

1. The 304 stainless steel and 201 stainless steel used in the stainless steel insulated water tank are usually matte on the surface. It can be distinguished by visual inspection and hand touch. 304 stainless steel has a shiny luster and smooth hand touch, while 201 stainless steel has a dark color and no luster, and the touch mold has a rough and unsmooth feeling.

 

Wet your hands with water and touch two different types of stainless steel plates. The water stains on the 304 stainless steel plate are easier to erase, while the 201 stainless steel plate is not.

 

2. Use a polishing machine to install a grinding wheel and gently polish two different types of stainless steel plates. When polishing, the spark of 201 stainless steel plate is longer, thicker, and more, while the spark of 304 stainless steel plate is shorter, finer, and less

 

When polishing, the force must be light and consistent, making it easy to distinguish.
