Maintenance or replacement of hot-dip galvanized steel sheet

According to the recommendations of the American Electroplaters Association, the thinner the hot-dip galvanizing layer, the sooner it needs to be maintained or replaced. The association believes that the above actions can be taken when 5% of the substrates are rusted. The association also inferred based on the A123 file of the American Society for Testing and Materials. The first maintenance time is shown in the figure below.

High temperature, dense population, and being in an industrial area will shorten the life of the product. If you do not find the corresponding environment, you can select an interval first and choose a point close to the line below the interval. For example, for galvanized sheets in a cold, non-industrial area with a coating of 1.5 mils, you can choose a point above the temperate maritime climate (blue line). The time to replace the galvanized steel sheet can be set at 34 years.
