Properties of stainless steel

The properties of stainless steel generally refer to physical properties, chemical properties, mechanical properties and process properties.

Physical properties:  specific gravity, melting point, conductivity, thermal conductivity, thermal expansion, magnetism.

Chemical properties:  the ability to resist erosion, including corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance.

Mechanical properties:  the characteristics, hardness, tensile strength and yield strength under the action of external force.

Process performance:  the ability of stainless steel to adapt to cold and hot processing, castability, forging and weldability.
